One month of Eatwise

It’s been a month since we opened the doors of the Eatwise Test Kitchen in University House.

Since opening, we've:

  • sold more than 2,000 hot drinks, with none of those being served in a single-use coffee cup!
  • served around 4,000 customers.
  • baked over 50 homemade focaccia loaves for our delicious sandwiches.
  • sold more than 1,200 portions of salad (with roasted cauliflower and chickpea being a firm favourite!) and 345 grilled cheese sandwiches.

Head of Food and Beverage, Matt Drew, said:

“We’ve received a lot of positive feedback about Eatwise Test Kitchen, particularly about the freshness and nutrition of the food.

The first month of operation has been a great learning opportunity from which we’re starting to plan the further roll-out of Eatwise to other campus outlets.

Being the testing hub for new Eatwise ideas, we’ve already been trying new ways of doing things, like removing single-use coffee cups and baking our own bread. There’s plenty more testing to do!”
