Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2022 opens this week

A survey of postgraduate taught students opened for our students on Monday 14 March and we need your help to promote it.

Eligible students have received an email explaining more about this national survey of students run by Advanced HE. They will receive emails with links to the questionnaire on and after 14 March.

Survey questions

The survey asks students about teaching and learning, engagement, assessment and feedback, organisation and management, resources and overall satisfaction. There are optional questions on dissertations and major projects, skills and development.

How the results will be used to enhance student experience

The results are used both departmentally and institutionally, to identify areas for celebration and where more work needs to be done to improve the student experience. They allow us to benchmark ourselves against the Sector and other Russell Group Universities to see how we compare for postgraduate taught student experience.

Following the release of the results, departments will participate in an action planning activity alongside their students, enabling them to contribute to the continuous enhancement of the PGT experience at Warwick using all forms of student feedback.

Participation incentives

This year students will be offering a University-wide incentive for taking part in the survey and all who complete PTES will be entered into a prize draw to win one of 50 £20 vouchers and two £500 Love2Shop vouchers.

Get involved

Help us raise awareness of PTES and emphasise the importance of student feedback with postgraduate taught students, particularly in face-to-face teaching sessions, feedback sessions and lectures. Visit PTES 2022 (warwick.ac.uk) for more information on the survey. Go to our staff resources page to download promotional resources.

Colleagues in academic departments can contact their departmental postgraduate leads for more information on efforts to engage students in the department.
