Dr. Kurt Debattista, Associate Professor at Warwick Manufacturing Group, has been awarded Industry Fellowship of the Royal Society. The Industry Fellowship scheme aims to enhance knowledge transfer in science and technology between those in industry and those in academia in the UK.
The scheme is for academic scientists who want to work on a collaborative project with industry and for scientists in industry who want to work on a collaborative project with an academic organisation.
Kurt's research interests are in the fields of interacting rendering, high-fidelity graphics, perceptually-based rendering, High Dynamic Range Imaging, parallel computing and serious games. The Royal Society will provide funding for Kurt's four-year part-time secondment worth £112,980.
Kurt has a Ph.D. Computer Science in selective rendering from the University of Bristol and an M.S. (distinction) by research in parallel computing and systems programming from the University of Malta. He has a first degree in Mathematics and Computing from the University of Malta. His research, published in over 50 refereed journals and international conferences, has focused on high-fidelity rendering, parallel computing, high-dynamic range imaging and serious games.
