In memory of Shirley Francis

We are deeply saddened by the death of Shirley Francis, Payroll Specialist in HR, who passed away on 4 December after a short illness.

Shirley's line manager, Tal Dhaliwal (Head of Payroll in Human Resources), said:

"Everyone that had the opportunity to know Shirley will understand the huge loss this is for her family, friends, and colleagues. Shirley joined the University in 2016, quickly becoming an integral part of the Payroll and Expenses team, and was proud to be part of the University community. Shirley had vast payroll knowledge as well as extensive experience from her various roles prior to joining the University. She had great attention to detail, showed pride in her work, and had a witty sense of humour. A caring person, Shirley always had time to listen and would provide sound advice in any situation.

Shirley was much-loved and a devoted grandmother, mother, and wife who will be greatly missed."
