Children's Summer Scheme – Now recruiting staff

schoolWarwick's holiday scheme for children aged 5-11 - is looking to recruit a team of Summer Scheme Leaders to work with the children attending the scheme this summer.

This year's Summer Scheme will run on campus from 21 July - 29 August (excluding the 25 August) and open from 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. The Summer Scheme aims to offer an inspiring range of educational, cultural and sporting activities to challenge, entertain and enthuse; developing children's knowledge and skills and utilising the fantastic resources available on campus.The activities will include dance, drama, sports, music, computing, model making, craft and forest school, to name just a few.

Summer Scheme Leaders

Summer Scheme Leaders will typically be undergraduates, postgraduates or PGCE students with an interest and enthusiasm for working with children, as well as relevant previous experience and skills. We are looking for individuals who are able to communicate and interact with children aged 5-11, be empathic to their needs, use initiative and problem solve, be self-motivated and motivate others, and work successfully as part of a team. Providing support and encouragement, Summer Scheme Leaders will facilitate the children attending to experience new activities, develop new skills and knowledge and to have fun.

Summer Scheme Leaders will be paid £8.33 per hour, and are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Successful candidates will be expected to attend training and briefing sessions prior to the start of the Summer Scheme.

Summer Scheme Manager/Education and Welfare Officer

There are also opportunities available for those already qualified to PGCE/Teaching Assistant/Youth leadership level to take on a management role as Summer Scheme Manager or Education and Welfare Officer, on scheme and /or in an advisory capacity beforehand.

It is expected that candidates for these roles would have significant experience of working with children aged 5-11, typically in an educational context and will be paid £12.79 per hour.
