The UK Research Office (UKRO) visit 24 June

The UK Research Office (UKRO) will be running sessions on Horizon 2020 and the 2013 Marie Curie Actions (MCA) Fellowship calls on 24 June 2013. Warwick's UKRO contact, Eevi Laukkanen, will be leading the sessions, which will be open to academics, researchers and administrators.

Horizon 2020

Venue: Lecture Theatre H0.51, Humanities Building, Central Campus

Time: 10.30 - 12.00

The new EU research funding programmes, which will be known as Horizon 2020, will start on 1 January 2014 and will last until 31 December 2020. A significant amount of information about Horizon 2020 has been published by the European Commission and more will become available during 2013. Eevi's presentation will cover:

  • the EU's research priorities for 2014- 2020
  • the latest information on the Horizon 2020 programmes and budget
  • the timeline leading up to 1 January 2014.

This session will be of interest to academics and researchers who want to know more about how they can access European funding for their research and to administrators who support the pre- and post-award processes, either in the central administration or in departments and research centres.

Marie Curie Actions: 2013 Fellowship Calls

Venue: Lecture Theatre S0.20, Social Sciences Building, Central Campus

Time: 14.00 - 15.00

The final MCA calls under FP7 for Intra-European Fellowships, International Incoming Fellowships and International Outgoing Fellowships are now open each with a closing date of 14 August 2013. Eevi's presentation will cover:

  • an overview of the Fellowship programmes, including eligibility and reimbursement rules
  • the 'do's' and ''don'ts' of writing an application.

The session will be of interest to academics and researchers who want to know more about how Fellowships can assist their research and to administrators who support the pre- and post-award processes, either in the central administration or in departments and research centres.
