Dr Richard Hutchins – Chief Communications Officer

"I regret to announce that our Chief Communications Officer, Richard Hutchins, will soon be leaving Warwick.

Richard has given ten years of dedicated and impactful service to Warwick, during his initial years with WMG, and latterly in Professional Services and as a University Executive Board Member.

Richard was pivotal in helping the late Professor Lord Bhattacharyya deepen our relationship with JLR. He also led the development of our two highly successful WMG Academies. Returning to Warwick in 2018 as Director of Strategy, Richard led the development of our 2030 Strategy “Excellence with Purpose”, our International, Regional and Social Inclusion Strategies, and initiated our Grand Challenges. He also developed a new vision for our burgeoning Wellesbourne Campus.

Richard’s most recent role, as Chief Communications Officer and UEB member, is beginning to transform the way we tell our Warwick Story. With Council approval of a new University Communications Strategy, he has decided the time is now right to move on to new challenges. Richard is of course a loss to Warwick and will be missed. He has brought his leadership, strategic and delivery skills to bear in highly impactful ways and he makes good things happen.

I am sure we all wish Richard well in the next phase of his career."
