Volunteers needed on Tocil wood Thursday 15 August

Volunteers are needed to help remove Himalayan balsam and mow a meadow in Tocil Wood on Thursday 15 August 2013 from 10.00am until 3.00pm.

Himalayan Balsam is an invasive plant which grows rapidly in dense colonies along brooks and rivers.

Please meet by the information sign in Tocil Wood (marked 'X' on the map below and close to the bridge) at 10.00am.

Peter Thorne will meet you there, hand out gloves, and – for those who are taking part for the first time – go through plant identification and health & safety.

Please ensure you wear suitable outdoor clothes (including long sleeves) as you might get a bit dirty. We also recommend you wear wellies or sturdy old shoes.

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust will be running this activity, if you are interested in helping please email peter dot thorne at wkwt dot org dot uk
