Warwick's Commonwealth Games Baton Bearers
Although the Commonwealth Games have drawn to a close, there’s still time say well done to Warwick’s Chris Luck and Becca Kirk, who both had the honour of being Baton Bearers.
Chris, Senior Head of Strategic Change Planning, was chosen to carry the baton through Kenilworth on 22 July.
Chris said:
“It was an absolute honour to carry the baton. I donated a kidney to a friend last year and am now a Trustee and ambassador for a living organ donation charity, Give a Kidney. My friend (a fellow sports fanatic) nominated me and we attended 14 Commonwealth events last week! Carrying the baton was a real privilege and a great way to start celebrating our local games."
Becca, Widening Participation Officer at Warwick Law School, was chosen to carry the baton through Chelmsley Wood on 26 July.
Becca said:
“The atmosphere was amazing, I’m so grateful to have been selected as one of the 2,022 baton bearers in England, it was a truly incredible experience.”
