Celebrating excellence: WATE winners announced

WATE Awards 2013-14 logoCongratulations to the winners of the Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence 2013/14, who have been recognised for their excellent teaching and support for learning at Warwick.

Winners each receive £5,000 to further enhance their practice and will receive their awards at the Summer Degree Congregation 2014. Look out for profiles of the winners on insite during graduation week.

This year's awards have been one of the most successful ever. Record numbers of nominations were received from staff, students and alumni, which resulted in over 70 individuals being nominated for the hard work they put into their teaching.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Christina Hughes, chair of the judging panel said,

I have been astounded by the response to the WATE awards this year, which recognises the excellent teaching here at Warwick. It is has been pleasing to know that staff and students have taken the time to tell us about their experiences of teaching and to hear just how innovative and inspiring our academics or support staff have been.

The five winners and five commendees should be very proud of the impact they have had while working at the University and I congratulate them all on their well deserved awards.
