Vice-Chancellor's Start of Term Letter to Staff: October 2010

4 October 2010

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome back! We are at the start of the new academic year, and I would like to take this opportunity to update you on activities over the summer months. It has been three months since my last letter to staff and during that time much has happened that is worthy of mention.

To begin with, a number of senior appointments have been made, reinforcing our culture of a lean, but strong, management structure. Professor Mark Smith took up the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the beginning of May and is now fully engaged in his new role. Nicola Owen, formerly Academic Registrar, has now taken up the role of Deputy Registrar, with Mike Glover from the Medical School moving into the role of Academic Registrar.
