Professor Derek Chetwynd Given euspen Distinguished Service Award
Professor Derek Chetwynd, School of Engineering, was presented with a Distinguished Service Award by the President of the European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (euspen) during a plenary session of its Annual Conference and General Meeting in Como, Italy. It is only the second time that the Society has made such an award.
Warwick-Fulbright Scholar Matt Stephenson
Following an incredibly tough competition, the Warwick Graduate School looks forward to welcoming Matt Stephenson as our Fulbright scholar for the academic year 2011-12. Matt will use the award to study for an MSc in the Department of Economics.
Professor Richard Higgott appointed Vice Chancellor of Murdoch University
It has been announced today that Professor Richard Higgott has been appointed as the next Vice Chancellor of Murdoch University in Australia. He will take up his new post in August.
Professor Steve Fuller appointed to Auguste Comte Chair in Social Epistemology
In recognition for his foundational work in the field of social epistemology, Steve Fuller has been appointed to the Auguste Comte Chair in Social Epistemology. Professor Fuller, who has been Professor of Sociology at Warwick since 1999, founded the first journal and published the first book on social epistemology in the late 1980s.
Warwick Welcome Pete Jones
The University is delighted to welcome Peter Jones into its security team in the role of Security Officer. Peter joins Warwick after 35 years of service with West Midlands Police Force. Peter served as a sergeant on the front line for 20 years, and also spent some time in CID.
