Brief Encounter - Hardeep Bilkhu

Hardeep Bilkhu is the Information Officer for the Research Operations Division of Research Support Services. She promotes the University's research profile, specifically through the project management of the Expertise system which enables researchers and academics to promote their research activity to both internal and external audiences. She is also responsible for the provision of management information relating to research activity and co-ordinator of ResearchResearch.com, an online database of sponsor information, news and latest funding opportunities.

Brief Encounter - Sam Howarth

Sam Howarth works in the Development & Alumni Relations Office and is responsible for the co-ordination of all Annual Giving activities. These activities seek to 'friend raise' and fundraise at the same time by educating Warwick's graduates and friends about the need for philanthropic support. Sam has also been a part of the University's Residential System for over six years and is currently the Warden of Claycroft Residences. At the start of the next academic year, she will take over as Warden of Rootes Residences with Whitefields – with responsibility for around 1200 new first year undergraduates!

Warwick People - Dr Julie MacPherson

Dr Julie MacPherson, of the Department of Chemistry, has been chosen by the joint committee of the Colloid Groups of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Society of Chemical Industry to be the first winner of the McBain Medal. The McBain Medal is awarded annually to honour younger scientists who have made a meritorious contribution to colloid and interface science.

Warwick People - Professor Deborah Eyre

Professor Deborah Eyre, Director of the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth, has been appointed to the Board of the Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA). The TDA is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department for Education and Skills.
