After almost 20 years with the University, Brian Healy, Director of Warwick Conferences and Hospitality, will retire on 28 February 2006.

Professor David Nye, from the School of Comparative American Studies, has been awarded the Leonardo da Vinci Medal - the highest award given by the Society for the History of Technology.

Physics Emeritus Professor George Rowlands has been awarded the Andrzeja Sottana Medal for distinguished research with the theory group of the Sottan Institute for Nuclear Studies in Poland. Professor Rowlands is the only non-Polish recipient ever to have been honoured in this manner.

Professor Sudesh Kumar, Professor of Medicine, Diabetes and Metabolism at Warwick Medical School, has joined the Medical Research Council College of Experts for the Board of Physiology and Clinical Science.

Professor Steve Thornton, Professor of Obstetrics & Associate Dean (Research) at Warwick Medical School, has been appointed to the Medical Research Council College of Experts.
