Warwick Welcomes - Daniel Orrells, BA, M Phil, PhD Camb., formerly doctoral student at Kings College, Cambridge, to Lecturer in the Department of Classics and Ancient History, from 1 August 2004.

Two Warwick students have each won a scholarship award to attend an international conference at Lund University, Sweden, on "Legal Perspectives in the World Global Business Enviroment".

Alex Sproat retired on 31 July after almost 20 years at Warwick. He worked in Personnel at first, creating Unitemps in 1995 and Jobs.ac.uk two years later. Alex would like to thank all the many people at Warwick he has worked with for making his time here so rewarding.

Warwick Welcomes - Dr Sarabjot Anand, BA Delhi, MSc Belf., DPhil Ulster, formerly Senior Lecturer at the University of Ulster, to Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, from 1 August 2004.

Professor Peter Elias of the Institute for Employment Research has been appointed to the post of Strategic Advisor (Data Resources) for the ESRC Strategic Resources Board. The appointment, which begins in October 2005, will be for three years.
