Genevieve Raghu, a 24-year-old English & Theatre Studies graduate, has joined Maddermarket Theatre in Norwich as Artistic Director.

During her time at Warwick, Genevieve was involved with the student drama society, as secretary then president. She directed the opera Dido and Aeneas, taking it on a tour of the West Midlands and to London. Genevieve also worked with Warwick Arts Centre, running the youth theatre programme, and the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.

Since leaving university she has set up her own theatre company, Threepenny Theatre, with theatre critic Michael Billington as patron.

Her first production at the 300-seat Maddermarket Theatre is Noel Coward’s comedy Present Laughter, which opens on 19 April 2012.
