Hannah Pickering

It is with great sadness that the University reports the death of Hannah Pickering, a 2nd year undergraduate student in Theatre and Performance Studies. Our thoughts are with Hannah’s friends and family at this time.

Head of Department, Dr Nadine Holdsworth, says: "Hannah Pickering was a delightful young woman. A quiet and gentle presence within her year group, Hannah was hugely committed to her studies. She consistently displayed a strong creative imagination, alongside a willingness and ability to collaborate with others in her work. Staff and students are deeply shocked and saddened by Hannah’s death and our hearts go out to her family and friends."

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel Thrift said: "This sudden death brings great sadness to all of us in the University community. Hannah’s family and friends are very much in our thoughts at this sad time."

University staff and support professionals are working to support those students who were close to Hannah. If you would like to speak to someone at this time, there are a number of support services available. The Student Support Services website gives more details, at: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/campusaffairs/student-support-services/

Hannah’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 18 May in London. The University will be organising a coach to take any students who would like to attend. Please contact Student Support for further details: studentsupport@warwick.ac.uk
