Honours Hat-trick for Warwick

Three Warwick staff members have received honours in the New Year's Honours list. Professor Howard Dalton, Biological Sciences, received a knighthood, Professor Muhammad Anwar, Centre for Ethnic Relations was made an OBE for services to higher education and Jenny Hocking, Associate Dean at the Business School, was made an MBE for services to higher education.

Professor Dalton is also chief scientific adviser for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and has been a Professor of Microbiology at Warwick since 1983.

Professor Anwar has worked in race relations for 35 years and said: "It is an honour for the University and personally I am very pleased that my work has been recognised. It was totally unexpected when I heard about it."

Jenny Hocking has worked at the Business School since 1978 and currently works within policy and planning. She said: "I am very excited - it is the consequence of being in a very successful university. Being able to work with some of the excellent people I have over the years has been fantastic."
