Professor Kevin Sharpe, Honorary Professor in the English Department at the University of Warwick and Director of the Centre for Renaissance and Early Modern Studies at Queen Mary, University of London, died peacefully in hospital surrounded by family and friends on 5 November 2011.
After being diagnosed with lymphoma in 2009, Kevin had made a good recovery and was pursuing various research projects and teaching until he was sadly struck down with a sudden recurrence of the disease last month. Kevin has been described as “charismatic, modest, fun, boundlessly generous and supportive of younger colleagues”. He will be deeply missed and our thoughts are with his family and many friends.
