Warwick Farewell - John Burrows

John Burrows, Deputy Security Manager at University House, is to retire on Friday 28 August, after 13 years at the University.

John joined the University after 30 years in the police force, working initially in the traffic section of the security team. He then moved into a supervisor role before becoming Facilities Manager at Senate House (now Coventry House), and then Deputy Security Manager at University House.

During his time at Warwick, John has had responsibility in a range of areas, including management of outdoor events and management of car parks. He was instrumental in the Clinton and Blair visit of 2000 and has always been renowned for keeping calm and diplomatic whatever the circumstances.

His friends and colleagues wish him a very happy retirement – he will be missed.
