A paper by Linda Dickens and Mark Hall from the Industrial Relations Research Unit at Warwick Business School was recently published on the 10 Downing Street website on the occasion of a lecture by the prime minister considering the role of work in the 21st century. The lecture was one of a series of 'Our Nation's Future' lectures, which look at the big challenges facing Britain in the years ahead.

Linda and Mark’s paper ‘Fairness – up to a point. Assessing the impact of New Labour’s employment legislation’ was one of six expert papers which have helped inform the PM. Their paper summarised key findings from research into the impact of New Labour’s employment legislation and identified factors affecting legislative impact and employer compliance.
