First prize in the Society for Educational Studies 2002 Book Awards has been won by Emeritus Professor Robin Alexander, formerly of Warwick Institute of Education and now at Cambridge University Faculty of Education, for his book Culture and Pedagogy: international comparisons in primary education(Blackwell). This completes a unique double: earlier in the year, Professor Alexander became the first-ever British winner of the Outstanding Book Award of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), also for Culture and Pedagogy.
