CommUnicate regrets to report the death of poet DJ Enright on 31 December 2002 at the age of 82. He served as an Honorary Professor of English at Warwick during the 1970s and was well-liked for his talks and poetry readings.

DJ Enright was born in Leamington Spa and educated at Downing College, Cambridge. He then taught overseas, mainly in South Asia, until his return to Britain in 1970. He is survived by his wife Madeleine, their daughter and three grandchildren.
