Warwick Farewell - Colin Touchin

Originally published 28 July 2003

Colin Touchin, the Director of Music responsible for the Music Centre since 1989, will be leaving the University at the end of August. Colin's contributions to the University, the Music Centre and the lives of many students and other music makers have been immense during his time here and he will be greatly missed.

During his time here, the Music Centre has expanded from six ensembles to a maximum of 20 recently, due in large part to Colin’s passionate advocacy of music as a resource for all and a cohering force both within the University and between it and the community.

The list of the Music Centre's achievements under Colin's stewardship is long and impressive and includes many competition medals, television appearances, tours and concerts at some of the UK's top venues. He has worked tirelessly to embed music in the fabric of life at Warwick.
