Derick Orford, a management accountant in the Finance Office, died suddenly as the result of a heart attack on Friday 3 October 2003. He will be very much missed.

Derick joined the University in 1999 and was expecting to retire in April 2004. He brought a combination of great expertise and common sense to the tricky subject of Transparent Budgeting and Costing.

Warwick has participated in various national pilot phases of transparent accounting, and Derick was well known at at national level for his contribution.

A collection has been made for the charities with which Derick was associated, including Barnardo's.

Our thoughts are with Derick's wife and four sons.
