In mid December the University was sad to learn of the death of Lesley Daniels following a long struggle with Churg Strauss Syndrome.

Lesley was first associated with the University Sports Centre nearly ten years ago, when she was commissioned to prepare a series of paintings for the Centre. This set of paintings, depicting sporting scenes, have outstanding colour and movement.

Last summer she completed a further commission to provide additional paintings to hang in the newly completed sports facilities in the Sports Centre. Lesley attended the official opening of these facilities in October, weeks before her death.
