Benita Parry, Honorary Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies, has been awarded an honorary degree from the University of York at their Summer Degree Ceremony. Professor Parry has been a leading figure in the field of the empire and post-colonialism and has been in the process of developing an MA in Cultures of Empire, Resistance, and Postcoloniality with York's Department of English and Related Literature.
