Emeritus Professor David Anderson from the Division of Civil and Mechanical Engineering has received the Lewis Kent award at the Institution of Structural Engineers 2007 awards ceremony. Professor Anderson was honoured for his service to the Institution, including representing the profession of Structural Engineering on the Board of the UK's Engineering Council and for serving ‘with great distinction’ as the Chairman of the Engineering Council's Registration Standards Committee.

Emeritus Professor Roger Johnson from the Division of Civil Engineering was also honoured at the ceremony. He received the Henry Adams Award for a research paper which was published in November 2005. With Professor Anderson’s award and the Gold Medal awarded last year, Engineering staff have received three awards from the Institution within 12 months.
