James Sinfield, final year Chemistry PhD student and aspiring photographer has been selected as a finalist in a worldwide internet photography competition.

His photograph has made it to the final 20 from thousands of entries and the winner will now be decided based on popular public votes. James is currently in second place.

The boy in the image is one of Coventry's more charismatic truants. His confidence and charm belied the scars of self harm on his arms. James met him in Coventry and he agreed to have his picture taken.
