The Yesu Persaud Centre for Caribbean Studies is pleased to announce that one of its first Associate Fellows, the Guyanese novelist Wilson Harris, has been knighted by the Queen for services to Literature.

The Centre organised its first International Conference in 1985, on the work of Wilson Harris, the papers from which were edited by Michael Gilkes and published by Macmillan.
