Postgraduate student Zehra Irshad was recently awarded the first prize for the best poster presentation at an international symposium on Maillard Reaction in France.

Her poster was one of 14 selected from over a hundred on display to be given as an oral presentation, and she went on to pick up the first prize for the best poster presentation in Maillard Reaction in Medicine and prize money of $500.

Zehra is a 3rd year PhD student at Warwick Medical School at the Protein Damage Research Group, Division of Metabolic and Vascular Health, and is supervised by Dr Naila Rabbani. Her poster was entitled 'Dicarbonyl stress of endothelial cells in high glucose concentration in vitro'.
