Meet our Above & Beyond Award winner...
Colleagues voted for Claudia Griffin, from the Warwick Mathematics Institute, to win our next Above & Beyond Award, presented by Professor Stuart Croft, Vice-Chancellor and President.
Colleagues nominated Claudia for her problem-solving skills, her ability to create a welcoming, positive environment and for demonstrating our values.

A colleague told us "I can personally point to many occasions where conversations with Claudia have fundamentally shaped the way I approach my teaching and how I interact with my students. The fact that she is not an academic also means that she always offers a fresh perspective, particularly on topics such as career advice."
As an excellent problem-solver, Claudia is an integral part of event organisation and has contributed to the success of many conferences hosted by the Mathematics Research Centre.
She consistently goes out of her way to make all members of staff feel welcome and integrated within Mathematics. Beyond the department, Claudia has created connections across Professional Services, coordinated events with the Statistics and Computer Science departments and regularly collaborates with colleagues from Warwick Food and Drink.
Some people may also remember Claudia from her time working at Rootes. During that period, she helped countless students by offering practical advice on what they needed to buy to begin their new life on campus, often at a time when they felt uncertain or overwhelmed.
A colleague told us: "Claudia goes Above & Beyond every day to make people’s lives better, and she makes me proud to be part of the Warwick community."
As part of our 60th anniversary celebrations, Claudia was interviewed for the Humans of Warwick series. Read her story.
