Dickens and the Engineering of Building Design

Libby BurtonProfessor Libby Burton has a joint appointment in the School of Engineering and Warwick Medical School. She is founder director of the WISE (Wellbeing in Sustainable Environments) research unit and is a qualified architect and urban designer.

Professor Burton's research investigates the social aspects of sustainability and how the built environment (architecture and urban design) influences people's wellbeing, quality of life and mental health. She contributed to a wealth of material created for the University of Warwick's award-winning Celebrating Dickens project, to mark the bicentenary of his birth.
