Warwick Arts Centre's varied programme features events that offer something for everyone - world class theatre, exceptional music and dance, some of comedy’s biggest names plus delightful productions for younger audiences.

We have some fantastic live events and films coming to Warwick Arts Centre this Spring. Get that date in the diary now, and make sure you have something to look forward to this term.

Theatre & Dance

At Warwick Arts Centre we strive to present some of the finest dance and theatre companies working today – this Spring Season is no exception.

Elektro KifTop Girls, set in Thatcher’s England, stars TV actress Caroline Catz as Marlene in this modern classic directed by Max Stafford-Clark and written by Caryl Churchill. Internationally renowned theatre company Cheek by Jowl present ‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore, John Ford’s classic tale of incest, morality and corruption. A new translation of Humperdinck’s masterpiece Hansel and Gretel written in collaboration with Kit Hesketh-Harvey is brought to us by Opera Warwick. Simon Callow reads excerpts from his exciting new book, Charles Dickens and the Great Theatre of the World to coincide with Dickens’ bicentenary, we’re also celebrating his life and works on our Celebrating Dickens website. The role of Eastern European immigrants in Hollywood’s Golden Age is explored in NT Live: Travelling Light, a funny and fascinating new play by Nicholas Wright.

Bianca Li’s Elektro Kif takes the urban streetdance style elektro off the streets of Paris and into Warwick Arts Centre, whilst Un peu de tendresse bordel de merde explores the moment of wandering between two love relationships in Dave St-Pierre’s contemporary dance performance.

Comedy

Steve HughesWelcome in the good weather with a smile on your face and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Our exciting line-up of comedians includes Hardeep Singh Kohli, Steve Hughes, Andrew Lawrence, Patrick Monahan and Richard Herring.

Music

Bob Dylan inspired Goodnight Lenin and folk collective Boat to Row join together for Under The Radar, an evening of musical delight. Sam Crockatt Quartet are an inventive jazz band that recently emerged on the UK jazz scene to substantial critical acclaim. Madness’ frontman, Suggs, hands you an access-all-areas backstage pass to his mind as he attempts the dare-devil stunt of single-handedly unravelling the mysteries of his own life in Suggs: My Life Story in Words and Music.

Family

This spring we have a wonderful selection of family theatre to introduce young people to performance including an afternoon of family films from much loved duos including Wallace & Gromit in Double Acts.

Film

As the region's top independent cinema, Warwick Arts Centre offers a unique experience showing the best films from around the world and often holds special events to complement the film programme. The cinema programme has plenty of fabulous and thought provoking films to entertain and delight, with a mix of old and new, comic and serious, and British and foreign cinema.
