British Conference of Undergraduate Research 2012

BCUR

The British Conference of Undergraduate Research 2012 will take place from 19 to 20 March at the University of Warwick and is organised by the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL). The BCUR is an annual event held every spring at a different university. Last year it was held at the University of Central Lancashire.

The BCUR brings together undergraduate students from all disciplines across the UK (and beyond) to share research through poster presentations, spoken papers, exhibitions, performances and film. The undergraduate conference is like any other academic conference but each presentation or paper is delivered by undergraduate students presenting work they have done either as part of their course or an internship.

IATL was designed to support the University’s unequivocal commitment to teaching and the development of innovative programmes and modes of delivery which have a real impact on student experience. It is a designated space for colleagues to develop and explore their teaching practice.

Reinvention: a Journal of Undergraduate Research, published by IATL, is an online, peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to the publication of high-quality undergraduate student research. The bi-annual journal is produced, edited and managed by staff at the University of Warwick and was founded through the Reinvention Centre jointly by Warwick and Oxford Brookes University.
