Christmas on Campus 2010

Happy Christmas from
the University of Warwick

The University will officially close from Thursday 23 December 2010 and will re-open on Tuesday 4 January 2011.

Although many students have gone home for the festive period, there is a host of activities and facilities available at the University of Warwick for resident staff, students and the local community.

University House will be closed from 6pm on Friday 24 December 2010 to 7am on Sunday 26 December 2010. At all other times University House will remain open to allow students access to the Learning Grid. Staffing at the Learning Grid will be 12 noon to 6pm daily during the vacation period.

The Chaplaincy will remain open on swipe card access from 7:30am to 10:30pm each day over the Christmas vacation until Monday 3 January, as a 'drop in' centre for students who are still on campus - all are welcome.

The Library will close at midnight on Thursday 23 December and re-open from 11am until 5pm on the following days:

  • Monday 27 December 11am - 5pm
  • Tuesday 28 December 11am - 5pm
  • Wednesday 29 December 11am - 5pm

The Library will then be closed from 30 December 2010 to 5 January 2011 inclusive for essential electrical maintenance work.

Warwick Arts Centre have a programme of exciting events for all the family including The Gruffalo by Tall Stories showing until Sunday 2nd January 2011.

The Arts Centre will be open throughout the holiday period except for Chritsmas Day and New Year's Day.

    The University Sports Centre will be closed from Thursday 23 December and will re-open from 10am until 4pm on the following days:

    • Monday 27 December: 10am - 3:30pm/4pm
    • Tuesday 28 December: 10am - 3:30pm/4pm
    • Wednesday 29 December: 10am - 3:30pm/4pm
    • Thursday 30 December: 10am - 3:30pm/4pm
    • Friday 31 December: 10am - 3:30pm/4pm

    The Sports Centre will then be closed from Saturday 1 January and will re-open on Tuesday 4 January 2011.

    The Spring term begins on Monday 10th January, when returning students and the beginning of a new year bring a flurry of activity. One World Week - the world's largest international student-run event begins on 29th January and ends on 5th February and the Winter Awards Ceremonies will take place on the 19th and 20th January.
