Connect2 a new cycle route

The Big Lottery Fund has unveiled the final shortlist for the People's £50 Million Lottery contest and a proposed off-road cycle route from Kenilworth to the University has made it through to the final as part of the Sustrans Connect2 bid.

The proposed Kenilworth-University cycle route is being supported by the University as part of its green travel plans for the future and is consistent with the University Strategy’s goal of ‘greening’ the campus.

Connect2 is a UK-wide project that would transform local travel in 79 cities, towns and villages by creating new walking and cycling routes. The proposed Kenilworth-University cycle route is one strand of the 79 which make up the nationwide Connect2 project.

Sustrans, the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity, now needs you to vote for Connect2 to ensure the project wins the £50 million through a public vote (online from 26 November and a final phone vote in December).
