Over 3000 children from 21 Coventry schools have been gracing the stage of Warwick Arts Centre as the Cov Cool Kids performing arts project comes to an end with theatre, dance and music.

With so many children and so much talent, one performance is just not enough so Cov Cool Kids have prepared four spectacular performances. Two performances have already taken place with over 1500 children from ten different schools on Monday 3^rd March and Friday 7^th March.

But don’t worry if you missed the first two performances, there are two more shows still to come on Monday 10^th March and Wednesday 12^th March.

Schools involved: 

Monday 3^rd March - Whitmore Park School, Hawkesbury Fields School, St Osburgs School and Fredrick Bird School.

Friday 7^th March – St Elizabeth’s School, St Patrick’s School, Aldermoor Farm School, Sherbourne Fields School, Woodfield School and Parkgate School.

Monday 10^th March – St Anne’s School, St Augustine’s School, Gosford Park School, Spon Gate School and Tiverton School

Wednesday 12^th March – Broad Heath School, St Gregory’s School, Three Spires School, Walsgrave School, Whoberley Hall School, Holbrook School

Since October 2006, nearly 3,500 children have created new works of art in theatre, dance and music in preparation for this final performance of the Cov Cool Kids project.

The project was initially funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund (a government Fund to improve services in particular parts of England). The funding was due to come to an end this year but a recent grant from The Coventry Children’s Fund will allow the project to continue for a further three years!

The latest grant of £190,000 means Warwick Arts Centre can continue bringing together artists and children from some of the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods in the City and let them make new works of art to share.
