International Programme in the Leadership and Management of Higher Education
The University of Warwick is to hold an International Programme in the Leadership and Management of Higher Education in September 2009.
The Warwick IPLM is an intensive two week programme for university leaders and senior managers from outside the UK, which aims to provide managers with the opportunity to reflect upon the key challenges and themes facing international higher education in the 21st century.
The new programme builds upon the highly successful Higher Education Management Programme offered by the Universities of Warwick and Oxford for over 20 years and attended by over 300 delegates from 60 countries.
Mr Jon Baldwin, Registrar of the University of Warwick, will lead the programme alongside Professor Michael Shattock, visiting Professor at the Institute of Education, London and former Registrar of Warwick.
Delegates will have the chance to take part in sessions held by specialist speakers covering university strategy; governance, leadership and management; financial management; entrepreneuralism in universities; marketing, institutional brand and reputation management; and operational management.
During the programme delegates will also visit a number of other universities, including Birmingham, Leicester and Oxford, providing the opportunity to evaluate different systems of governance and management and their impact on the culture and strategy of each institution.
The 2009 programme will be held at the University of Warwick between Monday 7 September and Friday 18 September. The all-inclusive programme fee is £3,750 per person, including all programme materials, accommodation, meals, study visits and social visits. Applicants must book their place before the 14th June.
