Funding for Energy Saving Project
Warwick is one of five universities benefiting from nearly £2 million funding under the Government?s Community Energy programme.
The programme, managed by the Energy Saving Trust and Carbon Trust, is designed to deliver cost savings and reductions in carbon dioxide emissions by supporting community heating schemes.
Warwick is to receive £500,000 to fund it's own community heating plan. The Estates Office is managing a project to connect the western part of campus to the main existing heating network.
This work means that an estimated 710 tonnes of carbon will be saved each year, this represents an annual saving of more than £37,000 on fuel bills as well as reducing CO2 emissions.
