Congratulations to the Warwick Boar. It's one of five newspapers nominated for the Guardian's ‘Student Newspaper of the Year’. The other nominations include: York, East Anglia, Leeds and Leeds Met and University College Dublin.

York Vision was last year's winner with The University Observer of University College Dublin coming second.

Former Sports Editor Mark Douglas has also been nominated for ‘Student Sports Writer of the Year.’

The Boar's Editor Will Johnson said “Every member of the Boar feels a sense of achievement when the paper is published each Tuesday, but having our standard of journalism acknowledged by some of the nation’s top journalists only increases the sense of reward.”

The award ceremony is set to take place on 12 November during the Guardian Student Media Conference at the Lewis Media Centre in Millbank. Prizes include cash, work experience at the Guardian and Sky News and flights from easyJet.
