Warwick Diabetes Care is to continue its successful partnership with healthcare manufacturer LifeScan UK for another three years. The company, part of Johnson & Johnson, has announced a new programme of investment over the next three years, which fits in with their Corporate Social Responsibility activities in the UK and aims to help educate both people with diabetes and the healthcare professionals who care for them.

Professor Yvonne Carter, Dean of Warwick Medical School said: "We are delighted that our partnership with LifeScan and Johnson & Johnson is continuing for another three years. Since we launched in 2000, Warwick Diabetes Care has rapidly become a leader in the field of diabetes education, and it is funding like this from LifeScan that enables us to deliver high quality education. The number of healthcare professionals applying to study with us continues to grow, reflecting recognition that Warwick Diabetes Care is leading the way in diabetes education."

Warwick Diabetes Care launched in November 2000 and became part of Warwick Medical School in 2003. Over 5,000 doctors, nurses and other community based healthcare professionals across a third of Primary Care Trusts have undertaken the certificate in diabetes care (CIDC) since it was launched.
