New Year's Honours 2010
Several people connected with the University of Warwick were honoured in this year's New Year's Honours List.
Professor David Storey of the Warwick Business School has been awarded an OBE for services to business. David was the winner of the 1998 International Award for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Research, and is currently a member of UK Small Business Council.
Professor Robert Burgess, who was a PhD student, a lecturer in Sociology and a Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Warwick has been awarded a knighthood for his services to local and national higher education. Robert is currently the Vice-Chancellor at the University of Leicester.
Trudi Elliott, a member of the Warwick Council, has been awarded a CBE for services to the community and local area. Trudi is the Regional Director of Government Office for the West Midlands, one of nine Government Offices in the English regions delivering policies and programmes at regional and local level on behalf of 10 Government Departments.
Professor Ian Crute, who has worked collaboratively with Warwick HRI, has been awarded a CBE for services to plant science.
