Students from the University of Warwick have beaten over 50 university teams from across the country to be crowned winners of the RWE npower energy challenge 2014.

The finals of the energy competition took place in March at the University of East Anglia (UEA) where the team gave an eight minute presentation on "How to put the energy back into energy companies" to a panel of judges, including the CFO of npower.

They underwent rigorous questioning by the panel for 15 minutes, and judges commended the Warwick team’s presentation skills and ‘price match guarantee’ idea before awarding the team the trophy and £2000 cheque.

Team member Beth Francis, said: “We all put a lot of work into developing our ideas and presentation and are thrilled to have won a national competition for Warwick“.

All four members of the Warwick team have been offered internships with npower and have also received offers from other companies who came to watch the event.
