Degree ceremonyThe University’s Winter Degree Ceremonies will take place from Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 January 2012. The Winter Ceremonies are a celebration of our students' successes and achievements. The University will hold one ceremony on Tuesday 17 January at 3pm and two ceremonies on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 January, at 11am and 3pm.

The ceremonies will take place in the Butterworth Hall in the Arts Centre. As well as celebrating student successes, three honorary degrees will be awarded to distinguished men and women who have made important contributions to cultural, intellectual, social, economic or political life.

This year, the recipients are Lady Sainsbury of Turville, Professor Alan Thorpe and Sir Robert Worcester. Each honorary graduand is presented by an orator, who will deliver a short citation about the achievements that have led to the award of the degree.
