Private Enterprise Development In Low-Income Countries (PEDL)
Warwick is involved with Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL) - a 5 year joint initiative by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the Department For International Development (DFID). It aims to develop a better understanding of what determines the strength of market forces driving efficiency in low-income countries
Here, Chris Woodruff, from Warwick's Economics Department, talks about his research in Sri Lanka into the constraints to growth of micro-enterprises and how to generate job creation. He also discusses the 5-year PEDL project, which he is directing.
