Academic Users

We welcome enquiries from any potential users of this RTP at Warwick, including from every level of experience in this area, with discussions ranging from those with users who are complete novices in data analysis methodologies through to researchers familiar with working with complex genomic data and who want to optimise their approach or learn new tools.

PGR students and UG students carrying out Bioinformatics- or Digital Health-related projects are very welcome to come to us for advice, help with self-learning, help with data analyses, help with high-performance computing, or any other Bioinformatics issues (note our Bioinformatics Clinic sessions).

The RTP works on a share-based system, with SLS, WMS, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry and Computer Science already underwriting shares for use by their researchers – this makes use of the Bioinformatics & Digital Health RTP free at point of access. We would still welcome use from outside these Departments, too. Whilst use is free at point of access, we strongly encourage adding the correct level of bioinformatics support to your grants as then we can ensure we have the resources to meet your needs and it also facilitates a reduction to your department’s costs. Please contact Sascha and Richard (details below) in order to help scope needs.

Often, preliminary data can strengthen grants and the Bioinformatics & Digital Health RTP can help with this. We can find the most suitable member of our team to analyse your preliminary data and/or relevant publicly available data and boost your chances of success.

Contact Richard Stark (R.Stark@warwick.ac.uk) and Sascha Ott (S.Ott@warwick.ac.uk) for informal enquiries or drop into our regular Bioinformatics Clinic sessions anytime.

Working with other universities

We know bioinformatics support can be difficult to obtain and we already work with a number of academic groups outside of Warwick. We can work flexibly, either via short small contract projects to help support your grant proposals, or we can be costed as an external resource on your grants, or we are happy to be collaborators and work together on joint proposals.
