Barbara Jones

Born: 1912. Died: 1978. Nationality: British.

Barbara Jones studied at the Royal College of Art in London. She undertook murals for the Commonwealth Institute in London and the Cheshire County Police Headquarters in Chester. Her career embraced watercolour painting and book illustration, notably The Isle of White for King Penguin. She worked on the Recording Britain project of the Pilgrim Trust during the Second World War.  A deep interest in English Folk Art led to her publication of The Unsophisticated Arts (Architectural Press, 1951).
