Jeremy Wood
Born 1976, San Francisco
Jeremy Wood was born in America but grew up in Berlin. He studied Fine Art in the UK at Derby University (BA Fine Art) and Central St Martin’s in London (MA Fine Art). He currently lives and works in Oxfordshire.
His present concern is with the fusion of art and science in the use of GPS satellite technology as a means of producing works which record his daily movement and exploration of the physical world to create a ‘personal cartography’. The resulting artworks offer a new way of recording and presenting in graphic form the experience of place and travel.
He has provided many drawing and mapping workshops in museums, galleries and schools and his work is in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, the London transport Museum and the University of the Arts in London.
