British artist born 1993.

Louise Giovanelli studied at the Manchester School of Art before completing a postgraduate degree at the Stadelschule School of Art in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 2020.

Her painting practice is inspired by found images of photos, film stills, Renaissance painting, classical sculpture and architectural elements amongst many other things. She keeps a repository of these images, that become a basis for works, often long after they were first discovered. The images provide a question that through the process of painting Giovanelli tries to solve, the question being 'how can I create this in the best way?'
